We hope everyone fared well and that you are recovering safely from Hurricane Sandy.
Interfaith Works Community Vision, a day shelter in Silver Spring
, was particularly challenged during this time as they ran the nighttime overflow shelter for the area during the extent of Hurricane Sandy.
The day shelter will continue to keep its doors open around the clock for those who seek shelter and basic services as long as the need remains.
If you or anyone you know within Montgomery County is in need of emergency services, you can call the Crisis Center at (240) 777-4000.
They are in dire need of WINTER CLOTHING and basic supplies:
1) Gently used winter coats for men and women
2) Hats, gloves and scarves for men and women
3) Socks: prefer new, ankle length crew socks in average men’s size
